i REALLY REALLY REALLY don’t get it.  She sounds just like every other goddamned annoying little girl singer.  The music is trite and childish.  Really, WTF Grammys/world/music?!

gillian welch is like five star restaurant food for your soul.

taylor swift is like a lollypop. sometimes you just feel like something cheap, sweet and bad for your teeth. but you can’t live on lollypops.

and on the other side, some people just don’t appreciate the good soul-food that is around, and live on the cheap junk instead. or more likely, that it’s that they don’t live on it at all. something else keeps them going (though maybe it doesn’t get them as far as something like gillian)

now i am going totally overboard and buying posters about the subjects i’m about to be doing.

after this, why will i need a poster about diabetes or breast cancer? hmmm. but i do want them. i think it would be nice to have for oral presentations and stuff. i could sell them on later, i suppose.

(i also got different colours for my fob watch - i can make it green, yellow or pink now according to mood, and a skull keyring because i like skulls)

stuff i should’ve done a while ago, considering how i was complaining about how long the uni break is.

cpr update booked (god knows why we have to do that - the hospital makes us do a cpr course with them every year too, so we have to learn cpr twice every year - guess what? i can perform cpr! let’s hope i never need it, but i suppose in hospital i may well need it if anyone decides to code on me)

working with children check renewal form in process. fortunately i’m not a criminal or a child molester so this should be fine, and should be processed before prac starts.

tomorrow i will take in my fob watch for new batteries.

bought new stockings to go with my uniform (most of the old ones had ladders)

bought stationary (paper, pens etc)

to do: re-organise my text books and top of my desk.

phew. three weeks to go.
